Baby T is Mama Zi’s eldest daughter, Taahira. She decided to bring Spice Zi Kitchen to life when she realised that there was no opportunity for
her to eat what she ate at home in restaurants or hawkers. Together with Mama Zi, she opened her parents’ home to guests from Singapore and abroad to teach, share, eat and laugh together to spread the meaning of food from her family to the rest of the world. Mama Zi & Baby T may look alike, speak alike and laugh alike, but they’re definitely different in the way they think. Nonetheless, they're a pair like cardamom and clove, better together.
Over the years, our work and stories have been featured on platforms big and small from our first experience of 'viral video' through our collaboration with 'Our Grandfather’s Story', then working with Singapore Heritage Board, Channel News Asia, SGP Noodles, Nomies, The Observatory, National Geographic, and The Meat Men, amongst many others. These features reflect the heart of what we do: preserving food heritage and celebrating the everyday magic of home cooking. As a small but mighty team: one of us learning to navigate the digital world and the other living continents away. We approach collaborations intentionally, on a 1‑to‑1 basis. Take your time to browse through our videos and stories across the site; they’ll give you a deeper sense of who we are and what we hold dear.
